Breaking the Silence

Regardless of political party or policy, there comes a time, at least for me, when enough is enough; especially when the President professes to stand on a platform of Christian values and morality.

Here's what the President has said and done in the last few months:

"Trump stated that since Norway did not give him the Nobel Peace Prize for stopping wars, he no longer feels obligated to prioritize peace but can focus on what is "good and proper for the United States of America."

Our country is not working with NATO because our President didn't get a prize? Please help me with this statement.

  • These statements were made in January 2026, communicated to Norway's Prime Minister amidst ongoing tensions regarding Greenland.

"On Tuesday, Trump highlighted that mortgage rates have declined in the past year. “If I had the help of the Fed, it would be easier,” he said. "But that jerk will be gone soon.” ABC News Jan. 15.

During a press gaggle, Bloomberg News reporter Catherine Lucey asked a follow-up question regarding the release of Jeffrey Epstein files. Trump interrupted her, saying, "Quiet. Quiet, piggy," and pointed at her. Air Force One, Nov. 14, 2025

Our President calls people "Piggy" and "Jerk" and himself a king?

"CONGESTION PRICING IS DEAD. Manhattan, and all of New York, is SAVED. LONG LIVE THE KING!"

–President Donald J. Trump Feb. 19, 2025

"When asked about checks on his power, Trump stated: "Yeah, there is one thing. My own morality. My own mind. It's the only thing that can stop me."

The remarks were made during a wide-ranging interview where Trump asserted an expansive view of executive power, arguing that his "morality" was the primary restraint, rather than international law or institutional checks- New York Times, January 8, 2026

His morality determines his power as a President? Is this why he has started naming buildings, particularly buildings that honor other people and organizations, after himself?

John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts

In December 2025, the White House announced its decision to change the name of the John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts to the Donald J. Trump and the John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts. The change was voted on unanimously by the Kennedy Center board of trustees, which was handpicked by Trump. A spokesperson for the Washington, D.C., building said the name change “honors Trump’s work at the center since taking over early in his second term,” said CNN. The center’s website was also changed to say the Trump-Kennedy Center. The Week. (This article includes a running list of venues he has named after himself.)

He's also slandering the character of former Presidents in a Walk of Fame in the White House.

"In a break from tradition, President Donald Trump decorated a White House walkway with bronze plaques for each U.S. president. In an even sharper break with tradition, the plaques were written in a style echoing Trump's Truth Social posts, with misleading or false descriptions of recent Democratic presidents." PBS News. Dec. 21st

Here's an example of what the Bible says about how we should act if we are intentionally following God:

Psalm 15 (NKJV)

Lord, who may dwell in your sacred tent?

    Who may live on your holy mountain?

2 The one whose walk is blameless,

    who does what is righteous,

    who speaks the truth from their heart;

3 whose tongue utters no slander,

    who does no wrong to a neighbor,

    and casts no slur on others;

4 who despises a vile person

    but honors those who fear the Lord;

who keeps an oath even when it hurts,

    and does not change their mind;

5 who lends money to the poor without interest;

    who does not accept a bribe against the innocent.

Whoever does these things

    will never be shaken.

Now, I am the first to raise my hand and admit that I fall short on a daily basis. I don't expect a President, or any human being for that matter, to be perfect. However, I expected more from someone who is the Christian leader of our country.

If our President is going to call himself a king, let's be honest. There's a huge difference between being anointed by God (King David) and God allowing a king to be appointed. (Check out 1 Samuel 8)

In the end, we live with the consequences of our choices, and actually, sometimes, it wasn't even our choice.

 As we celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. today, his words surround us and encourage us to step out of the silent waiting game and to help bend the arc of justice, purposefully and peacefully:

"The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice"

"History will have to record that the greatest tragedy of this period of social transition was not the strident clamor of the bad people, but the appalling silence of the good people."

"Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter."

"In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends."

I can't be silent any longer. I am writing this blog, dear reader, as a way to process the world around me through a lens of faith. Make no mistake, I believe God is on His throne, #OneTrueKing, all power and glory belong to Him and ultimately He is in control. Literally, Thank God! I also believe He has created each of us, for such a time as this, to speak truth, peacefully and purposely and to seek justice for all. I continue to pray for our nation, for my community and honestly, for myself that I would clearly see how God wants to use me to love all His people, unconditionally.

Help me see whatever you see when you look at faith, character and leadership.

As I stated in the very first sentence, this post is not about policy.

As far as Trump's character- it's not a "So what" situation for me especially since he is the leader and represents our country.

Blind? Far from it, sweet brother. I see his character flaws very clearly and I pray to see my own as well. (Every day I'm working on removing the plank from my own eye 😉)

You can turn a blind eye to a self proclaimed peace making king whose speech and actions sow discord with slur and slander and false narratives; I cannot. And so we agree to disagree.

Trump says he is a Christian. I have no claim to judge otherwise. I…

If you had started your blog during the Biden administration, you'd still be writing today about his failed policies but I'm not sure if that's what bothers you. You may be like others that just don't like the man. Your strong dislike for the man blinds you from the truth, could be. No one knows who's saved or unsaved. Is Trump saved, don't know, is Biden saved, don't know but I do know where a person is in their walk or crawl just by the words they speak because the words spoken are the content of their heart. Do I like his terminology, nope. Do I like his expressions, nope, heck I'm not sure I like him, so what.

We're…
